
3. The fir floor boards are coated with black glue. This adhesive bears the imprint of the burlap commonly used to back linoleum. Perhaps the bathroom had a varnished fir floor in the 1920’s but included a new linoleum floor covering in the 1930’s renovation. It’s time to research 1930’s bathroom linoleum patterns.
