Curatorial has installed the
conductorette display in the temporary image gallery in the tram barn (located at the back, adjacent to the video).
Conductorettes were hired by the B.C.E.R. during the Second World War to do the job of conductors on the street cars -- work that had previously only been done by men. An information sheet is being compiled for the
MI's -- but in the meantime, staff should familiarize themselves with the display by reading the panels.
