For the month of July, the library display case at the Kingsway Library features a display of Art Deco artifacts from the BVM collection. Art Deco design was popular in the second half of the 1920s, and features vibrant colour and stark, geometric elements. At the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, the BVM’s display case features artifacts in Art Nouveau style, from the early 1900s. Art Nouveau design is characterized by flowing, curvy designs, often incorporating floral elements. The "Decades by Design" displays feature design trends of the early 20th century. "Modernism: 1930s" will be featured next.
