Award Winning - Again

The British Columbia Museums Association has bestowed upon the Friends of Interurban 1223 and the Burnaby Village Museum their Museums in Motion 2007 Award of Merit for the Tram Restoration Project. This project was singled out for its exemplary practice of how museum professionals and volunteer vision and resourcefulness can come together to achieve a common goal, relevant to the citizens and businesses throughout the Burnaby area.

The Museums in Motion Award is an exclusively designed and commissioned bronze sculpture by internationally renowned Kelowna-based sculptor, Geert Maas. The award was presented during the association’s annual Awards Banquet on October 26, 2007, in Richmond.
